The CraftWorks offers a programme of weekly workshops  details the variety of adult learning courses available across Devon  is a heritage and creative attraction near Paignton, and local studios for a range of craft-workers who can be seen demonstrating their skills in the open studios

Coombe Farm Studios Dittisham, run by Guild Member & potter Laurel keeley, offers short /weekend courses in arts and crafts:

An Exeter based printmaking studio, Double Elephant has constant courses & workshops - they also run classes in Plymouth as well as Exeter - more info at:

And above this, in the main Exeter Arts centre - the Phoenix - there is a good range of practical, creative courses including crafts such as clay, bookbinding, various textiles and lots more. See:

Hannahs at Seal Hayne, near Newton Abbott is a charitable trust and creative venue  supporting arts and creatvitiy for people of all abilities including disability   

Make at Monterey are a relatively new creative outfit, based near Topsham Exeter, offering a range of contemporary craft workshops. Call 07973676746 or email or go to the website by clicking the link.

Sharpham Hall is a Totnes based venue in rural grounds,  which offers retreats and courses

The Dartmoor Arts Project is a rural creative education charity running arts and crafts workshops every summer in the location of Dartmoor (cuurently on hold 2016-17).

North Devon Ceramics Academy and studio is now taking bookings for 2016: 5-week day time class. Morning or afternoon lessons. More info on

Charlotte Mews in central Exeter offers a refined venue for women-oriented creative courses such as Interior Design:

TouchWood South West provides practical skills and knowledge for everyone to share a love for traditional craft and skills with the community.  Their website is: The workshops put learning at school into a real life context, is team building, truly cross-curricular and leaves the kids with the satisfaction of having achieved something they think not normally possible - to build a whole house! Their ASTRIDS HOUSE workshops are women only carpentry sessions where they will learn shed building.

Guild Member Megan Stallworthy runs Perfect Bindings Bookbinding Workshops in 2016. The first two workshops are lined up for March and April: Ribbon-tied Multi-section Book and Quirky Accordions-Exeter Phoenix, Devon and Longstitch Binding and Flag Book-Truro Arts Company, Cornwall. More details at
