Deborah is currently working on the industrial and archaeological legacy of Dartmoor, revealing her particular version of its past and present.
To create each photographic image, Deborah uses photo-editing software, digitally montaging a number of photographs to create illusion of space, complexity and intense visual resonance. Deborah’s work is richly coloured, sensuous, and imaginary. Her limited edition photographic images are archivally printed on fine art paper, mounted and framed.
Deborah studied Creative Photography during the 70s with Paul Hill, Thomas Cooper, John Blakemore, and Raymond Moore. She worked in New York with Ralph Gibson and artists Mary Ellen Mark and Robert Mapplethorpe. Her work has been exhibited at major galleries nationally and internationally. Her recent body of work ‘In Paradiso’ was exhibited by LA Noble Gallery at The William Morris Museum in 2014 and as part of ‘Merge Visible’ at the Mall Gallery in London 2016.
Deborah has taught on photographic degree courses, including LCC, University of Westminster, Surrey Institute, Birmingham City University and Falmouth University. She also continues to work as External Examiner on photographic degree programs. Deborah will undertake commissions.
