Robin is an illustrator and printmaker specialising in wood engravings and lino-cuts. He graduated from the Arts University Bournemouth in 2013 and has since been creating prints for products, books, magazines and a wide variety of exhibitions and shows. Robin works from his studio at Walford Mill Crafts in Wimborne, Dorset using a traditional cast iron Albion Press to produce his prints.
He is inspired by the iconic and beautiful Dorset landscape in which he lives, in particular the Jurassic Coast which provides him with endless inspiration for his work. Artists of the mid 20
th
century have a big influence on his practice such as Eric Ravilious, Edward Bawden, Lynd Ward and the Dorset artist and printmaker Rena Gardiner.
Robin undertakes regular commissions, both private and commercial and enjoys the challenge and thrill of getting lost in a new, exciting project. His favorite commission so far has been creating wood engravings for the Ardbeg Whiskey Distillery in Scotland to use on the packaging of one of their limited edition single malts.
In 2016 he was elected as a Member of The Society of Wood Engravers.
