Julia’s work is all about the natural world, it has been described as ‘Nature with Attitude (which she rather likes) Inspiration comes from her garden and the birds in it, her early morning walks with her dog Pearl, in the 5 mile radius of her home in Keinton Mandeville, Somerset and her trips to India and wild places. Julia has a BA Hons in fine art from Bath Academy of Art, Corsham and for over 30 years she has earned a living with a paint brush! From portraits to trompe l’oeil, from murals to painted tapestries, commissions came from all over the world. For the past 10 years she has worked solely as an Artist/Printmaker, indulging her passion for etching and relief, lino and wood cuts, creating handmade limited edition prints on Somerset Printmaking Paper. She exhibits regularly, in London with The Society of Wildlife Artists and Originals, where last year she was given 2 awards, The Fenton Arts Trust and The RE award.

At last year’s Annual Exhibition of The Royal Society Of Painter Printmakers she was awarded The John Purcel Paper Prize and The Paintings In Hospitals Purchase Prize. Her work is in the collections of The British Embassy in Paris, Paintings in Hospitals, The Aberystwyth Print Archives and the House of Lords. Julia is a member of The Devon Guild of Craftsmen, Somerset Printmakers, a selected Associate Member of The Society Of Wildlife Artists and The Royal Society Of Painter Printmakers and Makers (Taunton).
