	Description:	Bridget’s rounded pod like forms are lovingly burnished smooth and are sensual to touch. There are no glazes involved and the hand can feel the difference of holding pure naked organic clay. Shapes and decoration are informed by her love of nature and particularly the coast where she was brought up, the smoothness of pebbles and shells polished by the sea. The pieces are decorated with resists before smoke firing, so the still porous clay absorbs smoke in the places left without protection. They randomly attract the smoke during the firing allowing for a spontaneity that breathes life into them. Bridget’s latest development has been to create Smoke Fired Garden pods on aluminium stakes that are decorated with plant resists in order to enhance your garden or conservatory.
