	Description:	Eleanor studied ceramics at Glasgow School of Art during which time she discovered the beast epic - Reynard the Fox. The imagery defining her work has been influenced by these stories ever since. The main idea behind the beast epic is that the animal takes on human attibutes - and in this case is representative of a mysterious human prescence - the lover, the stranger, the parent, the child. The work has a fairy story feel, but with a slight edge - not too familiar and safe. The work is handbuilt/modelled in porcelain clay, decorated with coloured vitreous slips, transparent glaze, lustres and metal gold. It is fired to 1260C.
