Description:
Fran uses the raw glaze method for making her pots. Glazes and coloured slips are sprayed on to the raw (unfired) clay, often in many layers, using wax resist and sgraffito techniques which result in the rich and subtle effects. The pots are then fired just once, to a temperature of 1300º in a reducing atmosphere which contributes to the lustrous quality of her glazes.
