Caroline Hall designs beautiful devore scarves and jackets for her company CANGA. Trained as a painter and printed textile designer, Caroline was one of the first to print devore herself, and has been extremely successful with her designs. Devore is a very special fabric which lends itself best to rich colours; the combination of silk and velvet not only feels wonderful to wear but also epitomises glamour and elegance. Every year Caroline creates a unique and inspiring collection which is hand-dyed and finished in her workshops in Devon. Creating a new pattern can take up to five months from the initial design planning to the final production of samples for Trade Shows. Sumptuous colours show off two new designs for the collection Christmas 2008. Gavrinis is inspired by prehistoric rock engravings from the cairn on Gavrinis Island in the Gulf of Morbihan, France. This is a striking pattern with swirling flourishes, recording untold secrets for posterity. Myrtle, favoured in Roman times, has delicate flowers and fronds of glossy foliage.
