I design and make architectural stained glass working to commission on projects for the built environment. I also make studio based work for exhibition. The breadth of work undertaken is wide ranging, from traditionally crafted stained and painted glass windows to works that are made using the most up to date fabrication processes. I am interested in manipulating colour, the surface quality, and light transmitting qualities of glass.
My work is informed by a variety of criteria including the location, architecture, purpose or use of the building, client requirements and brief. Innovation and forward thinking are key to all projects. Common influences throughout may also be linked to my involvement in painting and printmaking, which cross with and feed into the design process for glass. |
