	Description:	Susan is interested in light and illusion, and uses layers of transparent colour and imagery to make two dimensional artworks. These panels, hangings and installations can be wall hung or incorporated in interiors. Recent commissions have included architectural glass screens for an exterior setting. She often combines media such as glass and silk. As an artist she has always enjoyed combining textiles with other media and finds it important to make work that appeals to both the intellect and the senses, and pieces develop through drawing and planning as well as in response to materials, colour and surface qualities. Developing new techniques pushes her work forwards. She is interested in layering, transparency and illusion, and recently this has led to an increasing use of glass in individual pieces.
