Description: |
Trish makes seamless hand moulded felt slippers, lightweight bodices, tops and scarves. She has been investigating the versatility of wool and the scope for artistic expression within the techniques, at first making rugs, hats and hangings from flat felt and using reverse applique to disclose hidden colours. She then evolved a method of moulding slippers and hats to produce felt that needs no seams or structural stitching. She is now exploring the possibilities inherent in constructing nuno felt, in which wool fibres are felted into woven silk producing a lightweight, diaphanous and drapable textile. Her seamless pieces which suggest body shape in structure and surface design are to be worn or displayed. She is always pleased to consider commissions. |
