Art in the Park goes Slow Fashion at CCANW with Devon Guild and DG Members

SATURDAY 14 AUGUST 2010 11am- 6pm

On the 14 August 2010 the Guild will have a stand at CCANW’s 'Art goes Slow Fashion event' at which textile makers from the Devon Guild Jenny Hutchison, Liz Clay and Bridget Arnold who are committed to working sustainable (as sustainable sourcing and practice) are selling, demonstrating and offering free workshops.

Wool Culture 2- Forum, Town Hall, Bovey Tracey

FRIDAY 24 SEPTEMBER, 10am - 4pm
In association with the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, Wool Culture 2 intends to stimulate debate, share information and find new directions for this undervalued yet sustainable resource; featuring Ardalanish Isle of Mull Weavers, whose products include organic meat and award-winning woollen textiles and fashion, and Val Grainger, the Woolly Shepherd, Overall Winner of the Devon Environmental Business Awards 2009.

Visit to John Makepeace's house and Montacute House

WEDNESDAY 29 SEPTEMBER 2010 9am-6pm
John Makepeace, the renowned furniture maker, will open the doors to his home and gardens in Dorset and give a short introduction to his work. Afterwards we will visit Montacute House and gardens (National Trust) and enjoy a guided tour of the house.

Big Draw Event

THURSDAY 28 OCTOBER 2010 11am-4pm
Join us for a family all day 'drop-in and draw' event in the Craft Focus room.

Visit to Made by Hand, Tredegar House, Newport, Wales

SUNDAY 5 DECEMBER 2010 9am-6.30pm
Visit to the new craft fair Made by Hand - a wonderful opportunity to meet and buy directly from 135 of the UK's finest designer makers in a festive and historical setting. You can wander the main mansion house, stable blocks, the Orangery and formal gardens of the Renaissance mansion and watch craftspeople demonstrating their skills.
