A 2011 feature-length documentary filmed in India, Bangladesh, Mexico, Japan, El Salvador and Nigeria which looks at the rich history of the blue dye indigo. Mary Lance and Jenny Balfour-Paul will answer questions on the film after the screening.
Talk: 'Tracing the Blueprint – Explorations in Hungary and South Africa

Priscilla Trenchard hosts a day to fire your creativity. Make a book in the morning and learn about paper, cutting, folding and sewing. Get to work with your book in the afternoon - sketch, paint, collage and print. Suitable for all abilities.
The Contemporary Craft Festival

In association with the Devon Guild. The Festival has built up a loyal following of over 8000 visitors and represents nearly 200 of the UK’s finest designer makers. The additional on-site educational programme includes demonstrations, workshops for all ages, masterclasses and lectures by some of the UK’s leading names. Includes ceramics, glass, textiles, jewellery, metal, wood, plastics, mixed media, leather, recycled materials and paper.

The Big Draw (11am - 4pm)

Join us for a family all day drop-in and draw event as part of the national Campaign for Drawing. Activities relate to our current exhibition of photography, based on ideas of view-finding, exploring the unknown and creating new worlds with secret maps, 3-D rivers and navigational craft.
Free, no booking required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Glass Christmas decorations and jewellery

Devon Guild Member Kim Atherton will teach the basis of glass cutting and fusing to help you create a beautiful hanging glass Christmas decoration. You will also work with coloured glass and silver to make a simple piece of jewellery.
