Getting out and About ...

One of our aims at The Devon Guild of Craftsmen is to get our community involved with contemporary craft and design. The Guild offers a wide range of events for the community including Saturday Craft demonstrations during the summer, Kids Craft Club, local showcases, the Annual Craft & Christmas Fairs, public installations, talks, advice and handling days. We can help with any community-led projects which promote craft, take crafts into the local community and show work by South West makers. We aim to keep local crafts culture alive, enrich the community and maintain its regional skills base. We can help with:
Sourcing artists and craftspeople
- Crafts research
- Public art projects
- Organising Craft demonstrations
- Sourcing funding for projects
- Residencies
- Workshops
- Venues for events and talks

Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool Mosaics: the newly refurbished swimming pool has some charming mosaic panels which were designed and made by children from Bovey Tracey Primary School, ably guided by mosaic artist Michelle McQuinn. The mosaic project was funded by The Devon Guild of Craftsmen (Big Hand, Little Hand) and The Helen Foundation. The panels are installed on the wall at the shallow end.
We also run an informative public talks and workshops programme open to all. Events info.
If you have a project that could involve the Guild please contact our Education Officer: Philippa de Burlet: phil.deburlet@crafts.org.uk or ring: 01626 832223 .
