JOIN US!  Become a Member or Friend of the Devon Guild

All working craftspeople based in the South West region (Devon, Dorset, Cornwall, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol and Bath) are entitled to apply for Membership of the Devon Guild. The Guild currently holds over 240 Members. The Guild offers two categories of Membership –
Full and Associate Membership.

Full Members can sell their work in our craft shop, submit work for exhibitions and gain access to marketing, networking and professional development opportunities.

Associate Membership is designed to help recent graduates and young and aspiring craftspeople to acquire the skills necessary to establish a successful business in craft. Associate Members benefit from professional development courses, free lectures and seminars from visiting and local craftspeople and receive support and promotion of their work by the Guild.

Selection & Election of Members - 2010 dates:
Saturday 6 March       (submission deadline for Stage 1 is Monday 22 February 2010)
Saturday 10 July         (submission deadline for Stage 1 is Monday 28 June 2010)
Saturday 6 November  (submission deadline for Stage 1 is Monday 25 October 2010)  

Friends - The Devon Guild of Craftsmen has an active and growing group of over 400 Friends who enjoy substantial benefits and also support our work in a number of ways. Their subscription helps to finance the Guild's charitable activities, and they may also have the opportunity to use their skill and experience in practical ways as well. Many Friends are regular supporters and help at the Riverside Mill. This is a good opportunity to get to know Members, Guild staff and other Friends.

There are two categories of Friends Membership at the Devon Guild: Friends and Best Friends

Friends’ subscription is £10 (students), £20 (single) or £27 (joint).  Among other incentives, Friends' benefit from the following each year:

• Invitations to other events and trips to places rarely accessible to the general public including private collections and artists studios
• Priority booking for many events
• Invitations to Friends Day with the chance to show your own artwork
• Free Newsletter with dedicated Friends section
• Free Friends eNews quarterly update – regular email update of events and opportunities for Friends to get involved
• Invitation to Open Evening launch of Contemporary Craft Fair for cardholder and another
• Discount on talks, workshops and visits
• Opportunity to be more involved – stewarding or helping with mailings or fundraising events
• 20% Discount on visit to Leach Pottery in Cornwall
• Exclusive offers from time to time

Best Friends’ subscription is £50 (single) and £75 (joint)
Best Friends receive all the above Friends benefits plus:
• 10% discount in Craft Shop 
• 20% discount on selected in-house publications (eg exhibition catalogues)
• 5 introductory Loyalty Card stamps free – for purchases in The Terrace cafe
• Exclusive Offers from time to time
