Fourteen international artists harness the fragility and transience of paper. By using it to create three-dimensional form, sheets are reworked or pulped to create visually striking works of art such as wearable garments, wall hangings, utensils or artworks that go beyond traditional origami. Here, paper is not just used for the printed word but given a chance to speak for itself. Featuring: Aino Kajaniemi, Berdien Nieuwenhuizen, Ferry Staverman and Leah Miles. Curated by Yvonna Demczynska, Flow Gallery, London.

In Tandem
26 September - 8 November 2009
A collaborative project between two Members of The Devon Guild of Craftsmen: Blandine Anderson and Terry Sawle who are accustomed to dealing with two very different media: ceramics and wood. For this exhibition they have combined their different media and techniques to produce furniture/ interior pieces which fuse together and question traditionally disparate ideas of ceramics, sculpture, furniture design and construction. Summer Exhibition
4 July - 13 September 2009
Covering the diversity of contemporary crafts
and celebrating the creativity of our membership
The annual Summer Exhibition is a chance for Members of the Devon Guild to produce new and individualistic work. This exhibition is the cornerstone of our programme at the Guild.
Early shows were held by a handful of Devon based makers exhibiting their work at different venues in the county. This tradition continues and now the Summer Exhibition dedicated to our Members, is the highlight of our calendar. (Image: Merlyn Chesterman)
