1. Ceramics in Schools
Guild Members have carried out a huge range of ceramic projects in schools and colleges including Totem poles, vessels in an Ancient Greek style, raku penguins and turtles, figurative sculpture, murals, wall hangings, self-portraits, slab-built musical instruments, mini-beasts and heroes & villains.

2. Printmaking residencies
Printmaking is a skilful process which has beautiful results. These images show printmaking projects organised through the Devon Guild which use a variety of techniques including collagraph, dry-point and chine collee. Printmaking is a project suitable for all age groups. The process is very engaging and portable presses make it feasible for schools which don’t have a press.

3. Structures in Devon primary schools
Funding was raised by the schools, HSBC Bank and The Devon Guild. Both the amphitheatre and the timber shelter function as multi-purpose spaces (they could be called outdoor classrooms). Children helped with the building processes and other school projects were based around the construction.

4. Textile residencies
Felt, collage, batik, silk painting and printing are all expressive, tactile processes. One of these images shows partially sighted children making felt. The texture of the fleece and the direct, bold way of laying out the designs makes the project very engaging. The finished fabric can be made into hats (or slippers) providing a project which goes from raw material to wearable finished item in a very direct way. Fleece, soap, water and friction are the only materials and process required.
