10% off Isabella Whitworth hand-dyed textiles - Sun 01 Jul 2018 -Tue 31 Jul 2018

Craft shop. Open daily, 10am-5.30pm

A special discount on a delicous selection of hand-dyed textiles by Devon Guild Member Isabella Whitworth, throughout July.

Isabella trained as a graphic designer and worked in industry before 'discovering' textiles during extended travels in Asia. She specialises in resist-dyeing, enjoying an international following as artist and tutor. Isabella is also known for historical research into natural dyes.

Her dyeing and painting on to fabric of patterns is often derived from drawings of natural subjects, such as feathers, leaves, animals or animal markings and the movement of water. Isabella specialises in resist-dyeing. Resist-dyeing refers to any technique where the dye is in some way controlled and inhibited from reaching areas of the fabric, or yarn. This can be achieved with folding, tying or clamping (shibori, ikat), or by using wax or various pastes (batik, silk painting, etc).

HER CRAFTWORK IS FOR SALE WITH A 10% REDUCTION IN PRICE - JUST FOR JULY
