Jubilee Gallery. Open Daily. 10.30am - 5.30pm. Free admission.

An exhibition of 60 puppets from Devon, the UK and the world, showing the richness of this ancient craft that is used as entertainment, in religious rites, as a child’s toy and as high art.

There will be small, large, old, modern, silly and serious puppets, including some familiar ones like Punch and Judy and Muffin the Mule. These will be displayed alongside little-seen puppets including an old marionette from the Victorian heyday of the English puppet theatre, a very large leather shadow figure from India, and little clay figurines. You’ll be able to handle some of the puppets.

OPENING PARTY:  Saturday 23 May 5pm - 8pm
