Colour, Naturally by Jane Deane - Sat 02 May 2020 -Sun 28 Jun 2020

Riverside Gallery. Open daily. 10.30am - 5.30pm. Free admission.

We all love colour! From the beginning of time people have used colour to enhance the world around them. Colour, Naturally looks at the natural sources of colour used throughout the ages, and exclusively until the invention of the first commercially successful synthetic dye in 1856.
As environmental concerns have caused us to look again at the potential we have beneath our feet and in our gardens, this exhibition will show a range of objects that are all coloured using an amazing array of natural sources: plants, minerals and insects. Discover how natural dyes can be vibrant and colourfast, a well as environmentally friendly.
