Fridays, 10.30am – 12.30, Exeter Library. FREE.

Are you 65+, interested in craft and meeting new people?
Do you want to be part of a wider project that explores, through making, the theme of ‘Change in my Lifetime’?
Join us and help shape your own art group.
It's sociable and fun, with refreshments and transport assistance …

Led by professional artists and supported by experienced mentors, these workshops will run from Autumn 2018 to Spring 2019.

Exeter main library workshops will be facilitated by Elizabeth Jardine, a visual artist with a diverse practice, and a specialism in papier-mâché sculpture. She is fascinated by the ways we connect to place and by the layers of history embedded in our lives and in our landscape.  Over the course of the workshops, the group will work together to draw out stories, memories, echoes of the past and reflections on the present, considering changes over the course of a lifetime.

Papier-mâché will  be explored in its widest sense to develop ideas and create  a large, collaborative artwork. The finished piece may be an installation made up of many individual elements, or take the shape of a whole, unified sculpture. The workshops are suitable for beginners and those with more experience.

At the end of the workshop sessions, the work will be exhibited in the main Exeter Library and later, shown in a main exhibition 'A Good Age' at the Devon Guild in Autumn 2019.
