Craft shop. Open daily, 10am-5.30pm

A special sale and display of jewellery by Devon Guild Member Jamie Inglis, for the month of October only, his silver and gold hand crafted pieces are 10% discount off the usual price.

Jamie was born in 1963 and grew up on the north-west coast of Scotland. After attending Dartington Hall School in Devon, where he got a good grounding in a range of Arts, he went on to complete a BA Hons in 3D Design at Middlesex University, specialising in silversmithing. The degree included an exchange with Bezalel College in Jerusalem. He then worked for a number of years with silversmiths and jewellers in London, Mexico and Canada, before setting up his own workshop in Devon in 1990. My work is a fusion of a variety of influences – particularly Celtic, Mexican and South American design traditions.

His pieces are all individually made in sterling silver with 18 and/or 9 carat gold decoration. His range covers earrings, rings, bangles, necklaces, pendants, brooches and cufflinks. He also undertakes a variety of commissions through the Guild.

Jamie will demonstrate how to make a pierced silver ring, constructed from 4 pieces of silver soldered together. Piercing on a silver sheet involves intricate sawing and produces a lace-like effect which can be as fine or bold as the design requires.
