SUBMISSION CRITERIA

As has been the case for a few years now, there is no theme to the exhibition. Work must simply adhere to the following submission criteria.
The Selection Election Committee will favour work that is consciously different from that found in the shop, making the exhibition a showcase for the best new work of the membership.

  • Work must not have been exhibited or seen under the Guild banner before.
  • Work must be executed to a very high standard.Makers must concentrate on quality not quantity.
  • Work must be NO MORE than 2 years old.
  • Work must be entirely under the control of the maker.
  • Work must be submitted with a completed stock sheet.
  • Additional presentation materials (e.g. frames, mounts, stands, mechanisms etc.) must be of the same high standard as your actual work.

Please note: Members can submit in any craft media and/or collaborate with other Members, provided that all the above criteria are met.

IMPORTANT DATES: Delivery of work: 2, 3 & 4 July. We cannot accept late submissions.
Submissions MUST be delivered with a completed stock sheet stating:

  • Date the work was made
  • “Made by [elected maker]” or “in the workshop of [maker]” with assistants credited by name
  • Please note, furniture makers only may deliver their work before 9am on the selection day by prior arrangement with Sharyn Baker.

Selection day: 5 JulyThose who have submitted will receive the results of the selection via email on the evening of the selection day. It is very important that you check your emails on 6 July!   Collection of unselected work: 6, 7 & 8 July.  Collection of work after exhibition: 3, 4 & 5 September.

Exhibitor statements for educational output in The Summer Show:

Our visitors love to find out about our Members, and exhibitor statements are a great way for them to learn about different aspects of your creative practice. We’d really appreciate having as many of these statements available as possible from selected exhibitors during The Summer Show, however this is not compulsory.
If you’d like to get involved and send us a statement, please see the information in the link above, and thank you!
