Category: Jewellery Silver Enamelling
Harriet has been running her own workshop for around twenty-five years and her work includes a combination of commissions, exhibition work and collections in galleries. She has been teaching jewellery at Bristol School of Art for sixteen years and runs a jewellery class at Stoke Lodge Learning Centre. She also makes large scale wall enamels in 2D and 3D. Her inspiration comes mainly from natural forms and she particularly lovse seed pods and unusual leaf shapes found in Botanic Gardens. Some of her work has been inspired by sea algae studied at the Natural History Museum. Her jewellery is comprised of enamelled copper which is attached to silver with gold tipped or pearl rivets.

I particularly like enamelling on copper because the colour changes in the enamel when the copper is heated, brings out the organic feel that I aim for in my work, which I like to combine  with decorative stylisation.
