Andrew North - Interim Chair - Trustee since 2020

Andrew has spent a number of years working with co-operatives and social enterprises. With a focus on member engagement, particularly around how members influence the organisation. His work has also included community engagement and campaigning while being successful commercially.

Gill Greenwood - Trustee since 2021

Gill is a seasoned marketer and a specialist in communication and brand development. Following a career in technology, from start-ups to multinationals, she is now a consultant and mentor working with social enterprises, not-for-profits and the third sector.

Jane Deane – Maker Member Trustee since 2020

A natural dyer who weaves and spins with a practice that is concerned not only with quality and craftsmanship but also with consideration for the environment. Has been a member of various organisations over the years, served on committees and currently Chair of Peter Tavy Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers.

Eleanor Bartleman – Maker Member Trustee since 2021

Eleanor is a ceramic artist working in porcelain and has been a maker member of the Charity for 15 years. She set up and delivered a ceramics degree course in North Devon and has ten years' experience of teaching students with a wide range of abilities.  Eleanor served on the Charity’s Selection Committee from 2016–19.

Mike Lea BA FCA CTA - Trustee since 2022

Mike has spent 38 years in the accountancy profession before retiring in November 2020. During that time, he worked for some of the largest firms in the north of England before returning to his native Southwest where he has been managing partner and a senior partner.  Mike has been heavily involved in the charitable sector and at one time was a trustee of no fewer than eleven different entities.

Ashton-Marie Sutcliffe - Trustee since June 2023

Ashton qualified as a solicitor in January 2018 and is now a Senior Associate in a local law firm. Ashton hopes that her legal knowledge will help support the charity and her fellow trustees. Ashton has always lived in the local area and loves to see local organisations thrive.

Andrew Alcock - Trustee since June 2023

Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Insurance Broker. Before retiring in 2022, he was Chief Operating Officer a UK ‘Top 100’ insurance broker [which specialised in the UK jewellery trade]. His career has included 2 years working in Australia as well as taking an IT consultancy through a management buyout and eventual listing on the London Stock Exchange. He also spent 5 years as a trustee of a national charity based in Devon.

Catherine Woods - Trustee since June 2023

Catherine is a qualified architect and property professional working in Devon and Cornwall. She is passionate about the environment and the arts. She served as a parent school governor for four years and is a part-time hobby crafter.

Mike Thompson - Trustee since November 2023

Mike has over 30 years experience working in the automotive sector – most recently as a board member for a large retailer group. He has recently relocated to Devon and is a Maker Member, creating animal and bird sculptures using vintage hand tools in his Exmouth studio. He hopes to use his experience to support the Board of Trustees.
