Miranda Salmon | Furniture | Devon

Miranda has been a ‘maker’ for most of her life, loving the process of designing and creating something that will be both useful and pleasing to look at.

For the last 20 years she has specialised in furniture and timber items, enjoying the combination of the natural form of the wood and the technical process required to create a piece that fulfils its function.

Much of her work is by commission, where she works with clients to produce a piece that matches their needs and the environment where it will live. She believes that working together with clients is an important process of taking time to explore what is wanted and how best to create it.

She also enjoys creating individual pieces for exhibitions, which provides an opportunity to experiment more freely with texture, form and colour.

Now living and working in rural Devon she is exploring opportunities to use local timbers.
